Congratulations to the class of 2024 on their GCSE exams results.

Principal, Gillian Dineen:

“I am incredibly proud of the achievement of our Year 11 pupils. The class of 2024 have achieved some of our best GCSE results ever. The Academy is very proud to serve the community of Harold Hill and we are delighted that many of our families will be celebrating the outcomes of their children today. This is due to the hard work and commitment of both our pupils and our amazing staff.”

Our pupils have smashed a number of Drapers' Academy's records today including;

  • The highest number of pupils achieving Grade 5s in both English and Maths
  • 17% of all grades were Grade 7 and above
  • 105 of grades awarded were 8 and 9

Below are some of the exceptional results that our pupils have achieved. Some of these reflect pupils who have worked hard to achieve multiple top GCSE grades and others represent stories of pupils who have triumphed over real adversity to secure the grades that will take them on to college and sixth form. The success of all of our pupils demonstrates their commitment to the Drapers' Academy values of purpose, kindness and respect. We believe that all of our pupils deserve to be celebrated and congratulated.

Iqmat : Grade 9s in English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, French and Business. Grade 8s in History and Physics. Grade 7 in English Language.

“I am going to be studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Economics for A level with the hope to go into Computer Science or Finance and Banking afterwards. The teachers have been really good here and have always helped me expand my knowledge when I haven’t understood something. I think they have really helped me to get the grades I have got today. I am going to spend the day celebrating with my friends and getting some food.”

Zeynep : Grade 9s in English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, History, Art and Turkish. Grade 8 in English Language. Grade 7 in Maths and Physics.

“I relocated from Scotland a few years ago, where the education system is completely different, so it was a big change for me. The grades I was getting at the beginning of Year 10 were much lower, so I am so pleased to have done so well. I took an additional GCSE in Turkish too, so I am pleased all my grades were high as there was a lot of work to do over the last year. I am very self-motivated, so I know that helped with my determination to get good grades. I am going to be studying English Literature, Chemistry and Biology at Drapers’ Academy Sixth Form and am looking to go into Medicine after that. I got such great support from teachers and friends when I moved here and I think this is one of the best sixth forms around so am excited for the next few years.”

Wiktor : Grade 9s in English Literature and History, Grade 8 in RE, Grade 7 in English Language, Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

“I exceeded my expectations, I got sevens, eights and nines. The exams were pretty tough, but I'm very happy and pleased with the results. A lot of hard work was put into this, and it paid off. My ambition is to go to University at Oxford or Cambridge, which I know isn’t easy to do, but if I put in the work then I think it’s possible. I will be going to Drapers’ Academy Sixth Form to study Law, Sociology and Psychology as I want to go into Criminal Law when I am older. I know it will be a lot of work but today just shows that I can do well, and I know that staying here for sixth form will give me the best opportunities to get there. I am going to go back and surprise my parents with my results – they are going to be really happy as I don’t think they expected any of these grades.”

Raina : Grade 9 in Art, Grade 8s in English Literature, Chemistry, French, History and Physics. Grade 7s in English Language, Maths and Biology.

Lorraine : Grade 9 in DT, Grade 8s in English Literature, Biology, Chemistry and Geography. Grade 7 in English Language, Maths and French.
